In January this year, my 5 year old OTTB was suspected to have Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Although it’s difficult to confirm this diagnosis without extensive and invasive tests, he showed all the symptoms.
The most concerning symptom for me was that his stomach appeared to be in spasm and he looked so uncomfortable. He also started losing condition, had chronic diarrhoea and a host of other symptoms.
At one stage I thought he wasn’t going to live for long even though we were trying everything. Throughout this journey of trying to figure out what was wrong with him and trying a myriad of supplements and medications, Tess from Max Gut Health offered me her constant support. She would send me voice notes on a Sunday to offer me encouragement and tried to speak to everyone she knew who may be able to help. Even though I had never even met Tess, she gave her genuine care for my horse and for my journey with him.
She offered to send me some Max Gut Health Plus, and educated me on the pivotal role of the gut biome. I started my horse on it as soon as it arrived. It took about two weeks, and together with a complete overhaul of his diet and feeding regime, he started to become the horse I knew again!
I remember there was one day that I arrived at the yard, and he shoved his head over my shoulders, drew me into his chest and just rested his head in my shoulder. I knew then that the cramps in his stomach were gone. He seems relieved and relaxed. From that day on he has improved everyday. I eventually started even riding him again. It feels like I have my boy back, and I know that Max Gut Health was a key player in his recovery.
Thank you Max Gut Health and Tess for helping to turn my horse’s life around!
